Ways to help hamsters in need
Everything Gretta's Hamster Rescue used to do, adoptions, surrenders, donations, and volunteering, now happens at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. The Humane Society of Boulder Valley, founded in 1902, has assumed operation of our hamster program and HSBV will carry forward the GHR mission through their Small Animal adoption program. Here's how to help today.
Adopt or foster
At HSBVLooking to welcome a hamster? HSBV adopts out small animals seven days a week and carries our care standards forward, including education for every new adopter.
Surrender a hamster
At HSBVNeed to re-home a hamster? There's no judgment here. HSBV is an open-admission shelter and will take your hamster and find them a loving home.
Donate money or materials
At HSBVHSBV accepts both. Your support now feeds, houses, vets, and re-homes every hamster in the program. Ask them to note your gift is in support of hamsters.
Volunteer your time
At HSBVHSBV runs a full volunteer program. Whether you want to help with animals or events, they'll find a place for you to make a difference.
