Our Mission & Vision
Every hamster, loved and properly cared for.
That belief started Gretta's Hamster Rescue in 2021. The Humane Society of Boulder Valley, founded in 1902, has assumed operation of our hamster program and HSBV will carry forward the GHR mission through their Small Animal adoption program.
Our mission found a bigger home
Gretta's Hamster Rescue was founded by 14-year-old Copland LaBerge and, over five years, placed 268 hamsters in loving homes from a family house in Westminster, Colorado.
When Copland left for Purdue University, we made a choice: rather than close, we would hand the mission to an organization that could carry it further. The Humane Society of Boulder Valley, founded in 1902, has assumed operation of our hamster program and HSBV will carry forward the GHR mission through their Small Animal adoption program.
Gretta's Hamster Rescue has found its forever home.
Our Mission
To provide hamsters in need with loving homes and proper care.

For all hamsters to be loved and properly cared for.
