Dorothy Ann

GHR received Dorothy Ann at the beginning of May 2025. Dorothy Ann is an 2-month-old, female, brown, white, and black, short-haired Syrian hamster. The average life-expectancy for this species of hamster is 2-3 years.

Dorothy Ann was surrendered to GHR from a family who adopted from a pet store. Their hamster turned out to be pregnant and gave birth to 15 healthy hamster pups! Dorothy Ann is one of those babies. Dorothy Ann has 5 other siblings at GHR right now, Minnie, Simba, Mulan, Miss Frizzle, and Agnus. Dorothy Ann absolutely adores her sand bath and loves to dig! She likes to be held and also likes to explore and play with her toys in her enclosure. She’s a very curious hamster! She is a little neurotic and twitches a bit. Will need a patient family that will make sure her enclosure doesn't have any high areas that she can tumble off of.

Dorothy Ann comes with an enclosure containing all necessary items, one bag of paper-based bedding, one bag of food, and one bag of sand.

The adoption fee is $50.

An additional suggested donation of $50 to $75 is recommended to cover food, bedding, sand, and enclosure materials.

  • Dorothy Ann is very curious and playful!
